Deuteronomy 4- Is God in Close Proximity?

Those who love יהוה Jehovah God should be clinging to יהוה our Elohim who has taught us laws and right-rulings. Those Words and commands יהוה our Elohim has given the world from one generation to the next we either can ignore or take them to be truthful and most important for our life. We should better guard them and follow them up, for this is our wisdom and our understanding.

  • It’s Not in You (cnhfaith.me)Maybe you’ve been telling yourself you can figure things out on your own. But, I don’t think so. If you could do it alone, you’d have done so by now. Although you might see it as weakness, the greatest act of strength is admitting that you don’t have the answers, trusting that God does, then turning to Him for help.
  • Treasure (presencenow.be)
As a verb the word treasure means to cherish, to love, to hold closely, to value, to adore, to be devoted to. So what do I value? What do I cherish?

The more we believe deep within our hearts and souls, that God loves us, the more we treasure Him. We quit overvaluing lesser things and devote more and more of ourselves to Him. His love is that good.
  • Light, life and love in the Word (dailymedit.wordpress.com)
To the limit that our lives patterns the word of God, that is the limit of the positive enduring results we see.

Everything originally emerges from the word of God, and everything else in our lives founded on the world will endure as God’s word is.  The word of God was recommended by Paul as the building block of our lives. The word of God is infused with the light, life and love of God.
  • Deuteronomy 13 (onethingonechapter.wordpress.com)
Moses warns them about false prophets who promise omens and portents if only they followed other gods, and not the Lord their God. They were advised not to heed such prophets, as they were a test of their faithfulness to their God. Such prophets spoke treason against the Lord and were to be put to death.

Similarly, anyone who enticed others to worship other gods, even family members were not to be followed and should be put to death. If they heard of towns whose inhabitants were worshipping other gods, they were to kill all of that town, destroying even their livestock. The spoils of the town were to be set on fire as a huge burnt offering to the Lord. They were to keep nothing from such towns.

  • Deuteronomy: A Commentary (zwingliusredivivus.wordpress.com)
Deuteronomy is much cited in the New Testament and has come to occupy an important place in the life and doctrine of the Christian church. It lifts up important wisdom themes such as humane treatment and benevolence to the poor and needy and is rich in theology, calling repeatedly on Israel to reject other gods and worship the Lord alone as holy.
  • in the Daily Verse: Deuteronomy 6:4 (faithfulprovisions.com) “The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.” that Lord is the Only One God: “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה {Jehobvah} our Elohim, יהוה {Jehovah} is one!

In Christ Alone Devotions

It would be hard to believe that in the time of Moses there would be Deists. You know, a person who believes that God created the world and just left it by itself to run its natural course. It is like a scientist creating a robot and then setting it free in the world and never coming in contact with it again. However, today there may be remnants or even hybrid forms of that philosophy that was born in the 17th century. Lets see what God has to say about that.

“See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. 6So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes…
