A God between many gods

Lots of people do not want to know about a god. Others go so far to cloth puppets which represent their gods, and others several times put food ready for their gods, as if God would not be able to take care of his food himself.

In the world we find cooking bibles, football-, tennis-, golf or cricket gods next to the many television stars and music gods. In the Western World there are also many churches who say that they honour the only one real God, but they keep talking about three gods: God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit. Then they also say they read the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, but then we notice that they do not want to take note of what one person says about the other one. In their Scriptures they also tried to get rid of the Name of God in the many translations, and substituted the name of God with an anonymous “Lord”. Why do they prefer to speak about Him as “Lord”? Would you speak about your husband as “Sir” or “Lord”? Would you speak about your wife with the word “Woman” “My woman”? Would you write to your best friend with “Dear Lord”?

The Creator of the earth who is also the God of gods, is a loving Father who wants that his children accept Him as their Father and not only speak to Him with “Father” but also with His Name. And when His children talk about Him, He wants that they use His Name and not just some tittles He has or people have given to Him.

God is watching this world and some think He is hiding His face when He is seemingly silent but He has given His Word to the world. But they should take it for granted. We are incomplete without the mind of God. Some think the mission of the one called son of God is perceived as a failure. That man who never aimed to be a god and never declared himself to be God, wanted that his followers would get to know his Father and would proclaim His Name and His Kingdom. But early in this Common era the ones who called themselves Christians gave in to the Roman Power and the Pagan traditions. They placed themselves and the persons of the Bible in a totally different relationship. They ignored the plain necessary food of the Gospel. They seemed to have become blind and did not see the reasons that Jesus was not God.

Today there are a lot of people who call themselves Christian, who are stepped on their toes and cry “murder” and “fire” when they are confronted with the Biblical Truth. They do not want to hear the sayings around God. But they should better listen or even better, go and look for themselves into investigating the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God which is the inspired and infallible Word which can change ourselves and bring salvation. In that big Book of Books, full of Wisdom they shall be able to find out who is who in the World of God. They shall find the Names and Titles of the many Biblical and worldly figures.

Also you, can find out more about what is said about the figures spoken of in the Holy Scriptures. It is not bad to compare what your Bible is saying with what your church and other people are saying.

  1. Who Is God?
The true God is the Creator of all things. He had no beginning and will never have an end. (Psalm 90:2) He is the Source of the good news found in the Bible. (1 Timothy 1:11) Since God gave us life, we should worship only him.—Read Revelation 4:11.
  2. Does God Have a Name?
Humans all have personal names. Wouldn’t it be reasonable for God to have a name? Having and using personal names is a vital part of human friendships. Should it be different when it comes to our friendship with God? In the Bible, God says: “I am Jehovah. That is my name.” (Isaiah 42:8)

  7. Exodus 7:1 – “a god” or “God”?  (topic)
It could be honestly rendered “a god” or “God” at Exodus 7:1 from the Hebrew Manuscripts. The ancient manuscripts of the Greek OT (Septuagint/LXX), however, use theon without a definite article (qeon NOT ton qeon). As also used in the NT…

  9. The Lie That Made God a Mystery
The Christian religion “in its three classic forms of Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism acknowledges one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. According to Christian theology, this acknowledgment is not a recognition of three gods but that these three persons are essentially one.”—The New Encyclopædia Britannica.

Jesus, the Son of God, never claimed to be equal to or of the same substance as his Father. Rather, he said: “I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28) He also told one of his followers: “I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.”—John 20:17.
  10. The Lie That Made God Nameless
“A man who does not know God by name does not really know him as a person,” wrote theologian Walter Lowrie, “and he cannot love him, if he knows him only as an impersonal force.”
  11. Misuse of God’s name Jehovah => Jehovah Is Worthy of Honor
When we deny him, by our failure to use his glorious name Jehovah, then we display a flagrant disregard for the sovereignty of Jehovah. When we speak and act in a derogatory manner, then we dishonor our holy God and his holy name.

  • The Holy Bible is the Word of God (ourfathershavetoldus.wordpress.com)
The Bible tells us over and over again that the things which have been spoken within its pages are spoken by the Lord Himself.  God spoke and the world came into existence.  Again and again we read what God is saying and doing on behalf of His people.  In fact, the Bible uses the phrase “thus saith the Lord” 413 times.  The phrase “word of the Lord” is used another 255 times.  The phrase “God said” is used 46 times, and the phrase “God spoke” is used 12 times.  The Bible is truly the Word of God.
  • So that’s what that means?! (laurenfalber.wordpress.com)
Often I sound like a blubbering idiot because my words just don’t do Him justice. And the truth is I don’t really have all the answers. I have faith and so I don’t need all of the answers, but a lot of the times I just wish I could form the right words and offer a good explanation.
  • Correct Doctrine 10 (matthew714ministries.wordpress.com)
God The Father is distinct and separate from both the Son of God (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Ghost. (Mat. 3:16, 17:5, Mark 1:10-11)
    +
God the Father is God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son. The Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit. As I’ve attempted to explain before (badly), The Lord Jesus voluntarily places Himself under God the Father. The Holy Sprit witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ, preferring to never bring attention to Himself. And God the Father has Exalted the Lord Jesus Christ above all others.
  • Praying Real Prayers; Asking God Real Questions (crosbyp12003.wordpress.com)
I don’t think you should question God because that’s who he is, God! God cannot be on trial but, you can ask God questions.

God wants a relationship with people , he doesn’t insist you relate to him with rules! Love God with all your imperfections, because God loves you right where you are and is not intimidated if you’re funky, dirty, unworthy , sinful, hurt, impatient , irrelevant , suicidal, angry, molested, raped., rejected……..
  • Who told you? The lies of otherwise (examiner.com)
God gave me the phrase “the lies of otherwise,” and explained it this way: “accepting any words that are not grounded in My Word is unwise. And anything that is unwise is otherwise. My Word is truth and light. My people are kept by My Word. My sons and daughters are protected by my Word, nourished by My Word, and are directed by what I have spoken. To be fed or led by any other word is to engage in otherwise.”
  • Logos & Son of God (jessicahof.wordpress.com)
One of the more puzzling of Mushtaq’s objections to the teaching of God’s Church is his comment on St John’s use of the word ‘Logos’ which because it originates outside Christianity – ‘Logos is a pagan Greek term, not teaching of Prophets from Adam till Moses’ – he seems to think inadmissible. The word ‘God’ originates outside Judaism and Christianity, and we use that word, so I don’t see what point he is making. ‘Hellenistic Judaism’ is still part of Judaism, and St John uses the word. I don’t see what the point of this objection is.

If anybody is working along his own father? Then does it mean that they are forming one unit? Answer is no. Working of father or Son doesn’t mean Trinity. Blessed Jesus here is telling his obedience to God, Blessed Jesus is not claiming here his Second membership in Triune God.
  • Is God Self Centered? (handsofclay.wordpress.com)
If you read the Bible much, you may come away with the idea that God is self centered.  There is a lot in the Bible about how God wants Glory from us.
  • Why is Sola Scriptura important? (michaeljschellerbcb.wordpress.com)
Sola Scriptura is a latin phrase that means “by scripture alone”. The point of the phrase is to make people realize that the Bible is the highest authority of a Christian and the Christian faith. It was a phrase by the reformers to open peoples eyes that the Catholic church’s teachings and traditions weren’t always based on truth. The Reformers realized that the Bible was what we needed to know the truth about what God says and for good reasons.First of all the Bible clearly talks about how the Scripture is directly from God.

Second, God is the good Father and He knows exactly what we need (Matthew 6:32). If He wanted to tell us something, then He would tell us. He put everything that we need into the books of the Bible.

God gave us His Word for a reason, what pride it would be to think that we could add to or take away from it.
  • Just listen. (katherineannesmith.wordpress.com)
If I am going to call myself a Christian shouldn’t I rely on God a little more than that? If I am going to preach the gospel to people who need Jesus, shouldn’t I be in contact with him always, and not just when life gets hard or i’m in a church building? The answer is yes.

I remembered how it felt to feel God every morning before taking on the day. I remember what it meant to truly spend time with him. Of course, God calmed my fears, took my anxiety, and rejuvenated my heart by nudging me towards some scripture that pertained to the stress I was feeling. When I finally closed my bible, and tuned back into the world, I Immediately got a text from a friend struggling with something she knew I had been through. And I was ready to patiently talk her through her options, and advise her to lean on God rather than on the world’s expectations of her.
  • “God See’s Everything” (iamnotashamedofthegospelofchrist.com)
There is such a comfort to the Believer who truly knows that God see’s everything and nothing is hid from his sight. Some live as though we will not be held accountable for our actions, yet the word of God teaches us otherwise.
